Javi Martinez played against Augsburg his last game ever with FC Bayern, after a nine-season glorious stage and 24 titles with the Reds on his trophy cabinet. And he did with a great win as the Bundesliga champions won the game 5-2.
The Ayegui-born player came onto the pitch on minute 61 and had a emotional farewell tribute. All the title he won with Bayern could be seen together on a big picture, a special gift handed by General Director Karl-Heinz Rummenigge, President Herbert Hainer and the member of the board Hasan Salihamid×ić. Alaba and Boateng had also their tribute gift as the pair played his last game for the club too.
In the game Champions FC Bayern brought down the curtain on an excellent Bundesliga campaign with a 5-2 victory over FC Augsburg. Before the goalmouth action, a series of farewells brought the 250 spectators at the Allianz Arena to their feet.
The home side took the lead when Augsburg's Jeffrey Gouweleeuw put through his own goal, Serge Gnabry, Joshua Kimmich and Kingsley Coman all finding the net in the first half. André Hahn and Florian Niederlechner scored for the visitors in the second half, but Robert Lewandowski scored his 41st goal this campaign with the final whistle imminent, setting a new Bundesliga record. The result means Bayern finish on 78 points, 13 clear of runners-up RB Leipzig.
